We have an Eagle Project for a Troop 2 Scout, Franco V, this Sunday, December 13, from 7 AM to 1 PM at the Jurupa Mountain Discovery Center (7621 Granite Hill Dr, Riverside, CA 92509).

One of the important aspects of an Eagle project is for the Eagle candidate to lead other Scouts and/or adults in the completion of the tasks; not for the Eagle candidate to do the work themselves.  This means that we need Scouts to help out on these Eagle projects.  Scouts will earn service hours toward rank advancement for assisting on an Eagle project.  Adults are welcome to come and participate as well.  Remember – Hopefully someday you will need other Scouts to help you on your Eagle project!!!!

Franco will be building two butterfly gardens on the property.  He needs help digging holes for the plants, planting them and putting down a weed mat, fertilizer and mulch.  All participants should bring their own work gloves and shovel if they have one; although Franco will have some tools and all of the materials available on Sunday.  Please wear your Troop 2 Class B if you attend this event.

Franco will also be providing a light breakfast and lunch in the afternoon!!!!

I hope you can attend and support this Eagle Scout project.

Yours in Scouting,

Mr. Hale LaBore

Troop 2 Scoutmaster
