Monday, September 7 (Labor Day) – There will be No Troop 2 Meeting on this night due to the holiday.
Saturday, September 12 (Be Prepared Challenge) – We will be meeting at the Jurupa Mountain Discovery Center at 8 AM to Noon. The ‘Be Prepared Challenge’ is a series of scenarios selected from the Scout Handbook. Troop 2 does this twice a year at the end of each Senior Patrol Leader’s term as SPL of the Troop. It is one of the last things he leads his Troop at. This is meant to be a fun ½ day for the Scouts and their families. It’s a challenge to the Scouts to see how they are doing living up to the Scout motto of “Be Prepared”. It gives the Scout’s families a chance to see their Scout demonstrate their skills and Scouting knowledge. There is no pass/fail or advancement, it’s just a challenge for fun and a family picnic to tell tale tales at. You can sign up for this event on Monday night. See the attached two flyers for more details. For any questions about this outing, please see Mr. Rankin.
Sunday, September 13 (Canoeing Merit Badge) – You can earn the Canoeing merit badge!!! You must attend the indoor classroom training on Monday night August 31 and then attend this day trip to Lake Perris to take the canoes out on the water. You can sign up for this event on Monday night. See the attached flyer for more details. See Mr. Alvarez for any questions.
IMPORTANT NOTE – If you want to attend the Salty Rat canoeing trip on October 8 to 11, you must earn your canoeing merit badge.
Monday, September 14 (Court of Honor) – This is an important night that all Scouts, parents and families should attend. Scouts will be receiving rank advancements, merit badges and other acknowledgments for all of the things they have done this summer.
